May 26-June 2 (8am-3pm): Pay all class dues, fines, fees, and MacBook/Dual Credit books returned. These must be taken care of before you are allowed to walk at graduation. (School building is closed on Friday, June 29)
June 3 (6:30pm-7:30pm): The Great COVID 19-20 Senior Drive Through. Drive through the high school bus loop to pick up your last meal from THS along with your 5 Graduation Guest Admission Tickets and your Pre-screening Medical Questionnaire for Graduation Participation. (There may be a few others surprises as well!)
June 4: Please make sure you have watched the instructional graduation video so that you will know what to do during the entrance, the ceremony, and the conclusion and exit. You can locate the video on the Troup ISD webpage (troupisd.org) after Wednesday, May 27.
June 5: Graduation Day. Graduates arrive at Troup High School at 7:30pm fully dressed and ready to graduate. Park your vehicle or be dropped off in the front parking lot only. No family members or friends will be allowed in the high school or gym. Enter through the front of high school. Before entering the gym, you must turn in the completed Pre-Screening Medical Questionnaire that you received during the drive through. Without the completed questionnaire, you will be asked to leave the high school. As you enter the gym, follow the directions as it pertains to lining up (We will only be in the gym for 15-20 minutes maximum!! Come ready to walk out!!). After graduation, you will be escorted back to the gym where you can retrieve any personal belongings. At that time you will be directed to your vehicle or family pick up outside the front of the high school. You will be asked to leave and meet up with family and friends off campus.
More Important Information for Graduation
- BE ON TIME: 7:30pm sharp
- You provide everything (except cords and NHS collars)
- Arrive fully dressed ready to graduate
- No family/or friends in the HS or Gym
- Guys: Wear a button down white or light colored shirt with a necktie. Wear nice shoes or boots. Be neatly groomed and clean shaven.
- Girls: Wear a V-neck shirt or spaghetti strap dress (No high neck tops or dresses). Wear nice shoes or boots (You will walk quite a ways to and from the stadium and on the football field. You might want to avoid high heels).
- You may decorate your cap with a few guidelines: (Nothing hanging over the edge; nothing sticking up on the top over ½ inch, and no profanity, derogatory or lewd signs, pictures, or comments (All caps will be approved before you walk out of gym.)
- All other Dress Code Guidelines will be followed. If you are not in compliance, you will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Guest Ticket Information: Please follow the following directions as it pertains to parking, entering, sitting, and exiting the stadium and parking lot.
- If you are a guest of a graduate Anderson through Jackson, you are to
- park south of the stadium in the lot adjacent to the Bus Barn and maintain a safe distance from other families as you walk through the parking lot, gate and entrance area, and the bleachers both before and after the ceremony.
- hand the gate workers your entrance ticket. The reverse side of your ticket must be completely and correctly filled out and signed. Questions incorrectly answered or No possession of a ticket, you will be asked to leave immediately.
- enter through the Home Ticket gate only and sit on the Home side.
- each guest will receive a program and hand sanitizer.
- TISD personnel are in the stands to assist you and to help each group maintain a 6 foot distance from one another.
- No one is allowed to stand on the fence.
- All Restrooms will remain locked during the ceremony.
- If you are a guest of a graduate Jones through Winship, you are to
- park east of the stadium in the lot behind the Visitor’s bleachers across from the HS Gym and maintain a safe distance from other families as you walk through the parking lot, gate and entrance area, and the bleachers both before and after the ceremony.
- hand the gate workers your entrance ticket. The reverse side of your ticket must be completely and correctly filled out and signed. Questions incorrectly answered or No possession of a ticket, you will be asked to leave immediately.
- enter through the Visitor’s Ticket gate only and sit on the Visitor’s side.
- each guest will receive a program and hand sanitizer.
- TISD personnel are in the stands to assist you and to help each group maintain a 6 foot safe distance from one another.
- No one is allowed to stand on the fence.
- All Restrooms will remain locked during the ceremony.
- If you are guest of a Top 10 Graduate, you are to
- park in the Middle School lot next to the golf course and maintain a safe distance from other families as you walk through the parking lot, gate and entrance area, and the track both before and after the ceremony.
- hand the gate workers your entrance ticket. The reverse side of your ticket must be completely and correctly filled out and signed. Questions incorrectly answered or No possession of a ticket, you will be asked to leave immediately.
- Enter through the gate on the north end of the Visitor’s stands.
- TISD personnel are on the track to assist you to your group of chairs. Do not move the chairs for they have been arranged to help each group maintain a 6 foot safe distance from one another.
- each guest will receive a program, and hand sanitizer.
- No one is allowed to stand. You must be seated in a chair.
- All Restrooms will remain locked during the ceremony.
The Ceremony
The Class of 2020 will enter the stadium around 8pm and proceed around the field for viewing. After all graduates have made it to their seats, we will begin the program with the introductions. At the conclusion of the ceremony, everyone will stand for the school song. When the school song is over, graduates may throw their caps. Upon retrieving their caps, the Class of 2020 will begin walking back up to the gym while the senior song plays. The graduates will maintain social distancing throughout. All family and guests are asked to remain at their seats until all of the graduates have left the stadium. As family and guests are released to their vehicles, graduates will get personal belongings out of the gym and move to the front parking lot. The Class of 2020 will be directed to leave the parking lot by vehicle or family pick up as soon as possible to meet up with family away from the school. No one is allowed on the football at any time before, during, or after the ceremony! Family and guests, please do not attempt to stop graduates in the parking lot outside the stadium on the way out.
